This can be parsed by e.g. FlatHub and other tools using the FreeDesktop AppStream standard to present package metadata (e.g. the GNOME Software app or KDE's Discover).
The use of this isn't limited to Flatpak builds but could also be used for distribution-maintained packages, though the initial use case would be for my Flatpak distribution (as per issue #268).
