waiting for localhost... #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Default Installation of XAMPP Version 1.6.6a > PHP Version 5.2.5
2. Fresh install of wordpress 2.5
3. wrapper_wordpress theme upload to themes directory

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Theme has been applied but does not work:

Firefox & IE: status bar says: 'done', but page does not display anything
except for:

    Firefox: 1003px high blank white space, under this space is a green
'bar' ~10px high
    IE: 846px high blank white space, under this space is a green 'bar'
200px high

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Vista SP1 Beta with latest wrapper_wordpress.zip source off downloads section

Please provide any additional information below.

Your problem is most likely in your markup but it is hard to say from this
information. Can you send me the htmll source for a page and can install the 
debug
player and send me all of the output from the log. 
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html the download is in the 
middle
of the page, you then have to set up your log file, you might want to use this 
plugin

Wrapper can't parse any html, it has limitations, I'm working on ways to open 
this up
but there are still ways to kill the parser. If your markup is clean everything 
will
should work great.

Hey Tyler,

Thanks for the quick response - fact is it's a completely fresh install of 
wordpress
with absolutely no modification to the template.

The wrapper_package with hello world is fine for me, works like a charm and I`m
excited. Tomorrow wordpress will be installed on my server so we`ll see how 
that goes.

I think your issue is with the rss feeds, try commenting out all this.

Tell me if this works and I'll patch this.

Everything that is loaded is in the head or in the css so one of these places is
throwing the error. If you haven't changed your styles then it is something in 
the
head and it can't be the javascript because that is working.

Tell me what you find and I will try and fix the bug, thanks for testing it 
out.

I`m sure that takes care of all the code generated in the HTML source - however,
another problem arises (see below, from the debugger). Now this is the first 
time
I`ve used wordpress, so bear with me. There must be something i`m missing.

If you send me the html source for the whole page I will take a look, something 
in
your markup is not able to be parsed. 

Did you change the template from the download?

I didn't change the template whatsoever. If you think this would be solely a
wordpress problem, we'll forget it - I can work with the hello world example.

Are these site somewhere public that I can see them? Make sure that this is a 
fresh
install with no articles. Sometime the content of the articles can break the 
theme.
I might try to download wordpress 2.0, do you know where I can check the 
version that
I have installed?

Also I have 80% of a new version made that will take care of most issues like 
this.
What is happening is a rendering error and something in your html is confusing 
the
xml parser and everything blows up. If you can isolate what is breaking this 
will be
easier to fix. Try navigating to other pages by coping links from the source. 
Maybe
it is something only on the home page?

This will account for the second error about malformed html. As to your original
problem, I found that after recreating the CSS file, clearing my browser's 
cache and
a couple tweaks to the original source fixed my issue. However, you may find 
that
your problem is different to mine.  As mentioned in the page at Steven Stark's 
site
(see two posts above), the required fonts are missing from the download, which 
may be
causing your problem. Also, don't be tempted to fiddle with the html, as that 
is all
correct and working without changes from the original download.

ok, I've figured out the problem with the wordpress theme on my system: I had 
the
thickbox plugin activated, which loaded it's own css via the <?php wp_head(); 
?> call
in the header.php file. I fixed this temporarily by removing the wp_head() call
completely so that wordpress can't add random junk to the page's head section 
which
could possibly confuse htmlwrapper.

I'm marking this issue as wontfix, as the problem is most likely down to the 
users'
individual scenarios rather than something we can do to htmlwrapper. To the two
people that chimed-in with their "me to"s, if this is still a problem fire off 
an
email to the mailing list or open another bug with a link to the site that 
exhibits
the problem and I will try to take a look (or I'm sure Tyler will :-p).
