msi setup fails:"Must be Windows 2000 or later" on Windows 2008

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download the msi
2. double click the msi
3. see the error message

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- proper install

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2, x64, en, all patches
jabber-net:JabberNet-2.1.0.710.msi

Please provide any additional information below.
- don't know, I think, this is probably a setup-version check error.

Could someone possibly give advide??

i had the same problem if you run it in compatibility mode it works fine hope
