Everything looks good to me! 👍
One thing I will add (that I probably didn't make very clear in the heuristic evaluation sorry!) though...
RE Words per line applicable for text on all pages to increase scannability/readability:
looking into some of these- what kind of browser support are you all trying to hit? is IE9 ok or are you aiming for 8/below?
Hey @furfreemi - we don't need to worry about IE8 and below for simplicity
We have had a UX designer, @ShawnaStewart, do a heuristic evaluation of OpenOversight and provide a bunch of excellent suggestions ✨ . Let's implement as many of these things in the next minor release as we can:
[ ] Replace dropdown Rank selection with a side by side selection:
[ ] Show each rank shoulder patch below the button instead of in the "Show rank shoulder patches as reference"
[ ] Enable filter by district
[ ] Form design best practices. See this guide she provided. Labels should go above the field. Dropdowns should be replaced, e.g. with a group of radio buttons.
[x] Replace "Submit" button with "Search Database"
[ ] Summarize on the form what happens when they hit "Search Database"
[ ] Add image header
[ ] Privacy Policy text is too wide. Reduce the number of words per line.
[ ] Display the email address instead of the "an email" link on the "About" page
[ ] Visualize the statistics on the "About" page
[ ] Reduce the number of words per line on the "About" page
[ ] Replace confusing "About" page with a "FAQ"
[ ] Add button to submit photo page whenever we display the "photo not available" placeholder image
@ShawnaStewart feel free to correct me if I've misrepresented anything!
