Open in background is broken in new dev builds #628

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Features selected (+options for each feature):
Background item opening crashes the latest dev builds

2. Url feed:

3. What is the expected output?
Reader item should open in background tab

4. What do you see instead?
Balloon tip indicating that Reader plus crashed

What is your version of GoogleReaderPlus ?
-> 4.0.1

What version of the product are you using?  (copy/paste from about:version
+ preferences/SysInfo)

Chrome (+channel): 21.0.1155.2 dev
Screen resolution: 1900x1200
SysInfo:

On what operating system - Windows(XP, Vista...), Linux(Ubuntu, Debian...),
MacOs(9, X...)?
Windows 7

I cannot support dev builds!
please use official version.
