Easy access to "Mark as read" from the "compact view" list #657

It's very handy to have the "star" in the left side of every article, in the
compact view of "my article list"... but, I usually know in advance (only by
reading the title) if the article will be interesting or not...

Would it be possible to have a checkbox near the left side of the article, in
the compact list, to "mark it as read"? It should work the same way is already
being done by the star, but for "reading" purposes.

Great extension!! Keep up the good work!

P.S.: I'm using "Minimalistic skin".

Thanks for using ReaderPlus and your reported suggestion.

you mean : one click on a title's checkbox to set article "as read"
but actually, one click on title = open item (indeed) and so marked "as read"
and when click next article, previous one is closed.

You don't save a lot of time by adding checkbox (and even reduce space a little
for title).
Personnaly, i use space,,n,p,j,k shortcuts to navigate through items (very
convenient)

There is already too much features in this extension, next goal is "simplicity"
(without loosing features of course).
So i will only add very valuable features.

Thank you for your answer.
My point (quite humble, I'm only a user) is that I can't tell by the title only
if the item deserves to be starred, but I can't tell by the title if I don't
want to read it (so I can mark as read). If you want to simplify the interface,
you can remove the star.
On the other hand, there are many RSS sources where you can find the full
article, so jumping from one article to the next one is not that easy
(shortcuts don't always work; I'm using Linux)... and the browser starts to
load embeded images as soon as you "open the article".

It's only the way a single user is using your great work!!!

Thank you very much!

Thanks for feedback!

I agree with you that a "fast reader" could be helped with a such checkbox-like
feature.

If more users approve this feature, i will revised the priority but for now,
i'm sorry, I cannot do better.
and I'm in late for the release of the next version.

Anyway, you could easily remove images, if loading is a pain.
In "Remove ads", write #.+ for "image filter" : then no more images :)
