Add a hotkey to send a link via e-mail #660

Hi,

It would be very useful to some heavy users sharing links from Google Reader,
to add a hotkey to send it via default system mailto: handler. I know there is
an option in Google Reader to send it from the webapp, but sometimes it would
be useful to use a different address. Maybe the implementation of the known
javascript code:

javascript:location.href='mailto:?SUBJECT='+document.title+'&BODY='+escape(locat
ion.href);

Would do the trick? What do you think? Thanks in advance!

You asked me to use your internal mail software to send mail instead Google
Reader.
But for what purpose? What is the reason beging this feature?
Is it to get the original sent mail ?

I use Google Reader at work, and I am forced to use Outlook, not gmail.
Therefore it would be easier if an appropriate keystroke activated a default
mail client.

I have a workaround entered in "Send to" menu, but cannot use a hotkey to
activate it. Would it be possible to implement?

The send-to entry is as follows:

mailto:?subject="Info:"${title}&body=${title}%0A%0A${url}

When I use it, my default email client opens, but I would like to use a hotkey
for this feature.

If it's not possible, no problem. But the feature would prove quite useful to
some users, believe me.

May be i'm wrong, but if you click on "email" in actions bar, it doesn't open
gmail, it opens a window inside reader. (yep, contacts are gmail one's, but
you're not under gmail.com host, so proxy should not filter this)
If you could enter in Google Reader with your account, then you could send mail
from Reader, isn't it ?
Or did your office's proxy reall blocks such things...?
or do you need to share news from your Personal reader to Professional contact
through outlook ?

The email actions bar opens a window inline indeed, but I cannot change the
email address associated with it. My job requires me to send links via
professional contact address (outlook), but from the personal reader.

Anyway, thanks for quick answers to my suggestion.

Good luck with the extension - it's my favourite and most used one :)
