Radex RD1212v1 - time series inverted #9

When I do a readall, I see some nice time series measurement data

However, when I run tail, it shows me the oldest in the time series, rather than the newest. Also, despite new data becoming available, it doesn't show that data (I'm assuming because it's trying to only show "newer" data and something is reversed).

No additional lines are printed as I wait for several minutes, however rerunning readall shows new data arrived

Not sure, can you try to replace keys = [0x0] with keys = [0xb3]? If it does not work, I think we need to iterate from 0x0 to 0xb3 to search the most recent measure.

per https://github.com/luigifab/python-radexreader/issues/11 my time on the device is a little wonky. I ran erase to clean it up, and I can confirm the memory spots are being written starting with 0x0 and incrementing, so 0xb3 is empty. I don't know what happens when it fills it up all the available slots, but I will know in an hour :-)

Okay, I can confirm that 0xb3 holds the most recent reading IF AND ONLY IF the whole history is full. older readings are decremented and fall off after being decremented all the way down to 0x0

To that end, it probably makes sense for "readlast" to read 0xb3 and if it finds nothing to decrement down in a loop until it either finds something or runs out of keys to check

Can you try v1 - slow version and v2 - fastest version?

At same time, can you uncomment line 203 and check that it correspond of the period configured to store data in your device?

Apologies, just getting back to testing 1.2.2 and had a little more patience testing this time and what's happening seems a little more clear. I have the unit set to reading once a minute, and here's what happens

What I find interesting is that tail seems to be reading the 51st entry, but once every three hours, which I can't really explain.

When I run erase it obviously removes all entries. As it fills them back up it does one at a time, and takes 3 hours to fill the entire buffer of data. The numbers look continuous, which means it's probably shifting every entry one spot and adding the new reading to the end? So why is tail only reading once every three hours? Any thoughts?

Closer for sure, it's still a little off somehow. If the memory is empty (I run erase) it works right, up until the memory is full. When the memory is full, it only reads once every 3 hours.

Could you try this new version? tail with empty memory and full + last

tail works with full memory and empty memory. last shows "no data stored" after I erase the memory, but as soon as there is one (or more) value there is works as expected. This all seems to be working as expected when using https://gist.github.com/luigifab/c3709a860754e3e67c8a2977b5ddfbea

If it works for you, please tag a release after so I can push this to Gentoo easily.
