Is there a way to reset the search when the user pulls down the options for the second time?

I love the plugin; I have one request.

I want the user to be able to pick one category, pick an item from the dropdown, as usual.

But then, if the user goes back to that category and picks something else, can the first search be cancelled out in favor of the second?

In other words, I don't want the user to be able to pick more than one item in each category.

Thoughts?
