I'd like to be able to set a state command without needing to set up an on/off command, and have the results appear as a sensor such as a motion sensor rather than as a switch. This would be simper for devices where checking the state is useful for automations but which don't need to be controlled from HomeKit. It would also give more flexibility for notifications, since HomeKit does not have the option to notify you of changes to a switch/light.
