Python 3 version? #15

I'm interested in doing some work with self organising maps in python 3. I figure it'd make more sense to use existing code, rather than write my own bugs. Is there a plan to convert milk to python 3? If not, and I attempt it, and would you be willing to pull a 3.x branch, or would it be better to focus on getting some SOM code into a bigger project, like scikit-learn?

I'd be more than happy to merge any fixes that make milk work on Python 3.

As to whether you do it here or on sklearn, that's whatever you think fits best your interests, but they are not mutually exclusive (some of milk's code has found its way to sklearn & vice-versa).

(I'll close the issue here. If you have specific errors on Python 3, feel free to open new issues related to those).
