Brawl+ aka Ocarina support not working #98

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load cfg Loader
2. Boot Super smash bros brawl
3. enable ocarina, with brawl+ gct file

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Hangs with a black screen...
Then I have to reboot my wii.
Game works fine without any codes enabled

What version of the loader are you using?
62a

What is your System Menu version (e.g. 4.2u)?
4.1u

What is your media type (HDD, USB Flash, SD/SDHC)?
Seagate 320GB External USB HDD

How is your media formatted (wbfs, fat32, ntfs)?
fat32

Which cios are you using and which version (222, 249v??)?
cios 249 r20 with ios 38 as base

Please provide any additional information below.
I seem to recall people at wiihacks saying on some post that this does not work
because the gct file is too big, meaning that it has too many lines of code. I
also tried this with balanced brawl and that does not work ethier.
However, I tried a small gct file (2kb) and that worked fine. Again, I think
the problem is caused by codes with too many lines, but I don't know for sure.
Any help is appricated. Thanks.

Can you try v54 (this is the first version that supported Brawl+)
And also v63 (latest release)
Does it work with any of those?

hey guys,
thanks for the update, unfortunately I am kinda wii-less right now, being out
of town and such... anyway, I will try v63 and v54 and see if it works as soon
as i get back... it will be 2 or 3 weeks. In the meantime can anyone else try
v63 with brawl+ or BalancedBrawl and see if it works. Thanks in advance, and
hope it works.

Hello, sorry for this way late post... but, I just tried brawl+ in r63 and r65
and both results were the same: I loaded the game and right before booting, I
saw it find the ocarina codes, but then directly after that it gave a warning
message saying that there was too many codes, and then booted the game. Brawl
did not get a black screen, like my first post said, and worked fine however
with the exception that no codes were loaded. I also tried v54 but I could
never get it to find my hard drive. It kept saying error mounting fat/wbfs
partition... but my drive works fine in r65. Soooooo, anyone got any ideas?
thanks in advance, and sorry for posting this way late.

I have a similar issue with v69 and v69c trying to launch Brawl- 2.2.1. In
Brawl's options, the entry in hook types says "No hooks" unless I change any
option on the same page; then, the last selected hook type is "remembered"
until I leave the options. I am not told there are too many lines when
launching the game, but I am when I go to "Manage Codes". Like the comment
above, I don't get a black screen but Brawl launches without the codes. Brawl-
worked for me a while back but I can't remember my configuration then. Current
config: d2x v6 with base 56 in IOS249, WBFS HDD, 4.3e.

Don't use the brawl+ CFG.
Use the snapshot code to load it.
