Soundflower delay and crash with MOTU 828 Firewire #74

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Select soundflowerbed as the output device for the mac.
2. Select the MOTU interface via the soundflowerbed menu.
3. Test that it operates properly.
4. Walk away from the computer and return to it after at least 15 minutes.
5. Test the volume by operating the keyboard volume control

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect that when operating the volume control on the keyboard I get a "blip"
sound indicating each press of the volume up or down. This will be in sync with
each press of the key.

What I see instead is that there is a 0.5 - 1.0 second delay of sound after I
press the key. This subsequently puts the audio out of sync on all audio
related activity on the computer.

I can work around this by selecting "None (Off)" from the menu and then
reselecting the MOTU interface. This puts it back in sync.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The About window says 1.5.2 but I also had this issue with 1.5.1.

Please provide any additional information below.

Sometimes when selecting the MOTU inteface in the menu Soundflowerbed crashes.
I can restart it with no issues. Nothing seems to appear in the console logs or
crash reporter.
