Back to search results #31

When looking through the search results you often want to switch between
the text and the result list. Today the steps (on my Sony Ericsson W550i)
to go back to the search result list are the following:

* press right soft key (if full screen)
* press right soft key ("More")
* press down
* choose "Search Results"
* scroll to appropriate list item

This could be simplified by adding a feature that brings you back to the
the search result list (to the last viewed item) when pressing the back or
the left key.

The left and right keys certainly could be used for something.

I had been thinking myself of using them to scroll through the history, a bit
like
the back and forward buttons in a web browser.

I'm hesitant however to give them one particular type of functionality as there
are
many things that they could be used for. One possibility is to have it
configurable
in the preferences.

Alternatively it could be context sensitive, eg:
* If they selected a search result then left and right scroll through the
search results
* If they selected a verse through the Go to screen then left and right scroll
through the history

The only problem is that it could confuse users. Perhaps we could indicate
visually
what's happening. We could briefly display "Search result i of n" to indicate
that
the buttons are no longer going through the history but the search results.

Dan,

Please review this issue.

We could plan to do something about it for version 2.4.1

The SymScroll branch includes some useful enhancements to the Search feature.

Changed owner, as original owner no longer registered for the project.
