Feasibility to implement displaying footnotes in Go Bible?

While navigating between books (e.g. using keys 1 or 4), the Go Bible
transiently displays the next book reference (e.g. Exodus 1:1) within a
bordered rectangle.

The control used to implement such bordered rectangles could be leveraged
to display footnotes. But how to adapt GoBibleDataFormat to store footnotes?

One possibility is to build a parallel text containing only the footnotes
for those verses that have them, and empty verses for those that don't. For
verses with multiple footnotes, we would need a suitable separator code.

How to access footnotes?

Just use one of the unassigned keys on the keypad. e.g. key 9. 

Footnote display could be timed out automatically after a few seconds. 

For verses that have multiple footnotes, we'd need a means to navigate
between them. The same key 9 could be used for that, as well for clearing
the [last] footnote display before the automatic time-out.

How to tie footnotes to the locations in the passage being displayed? 
That's a more difficult problem, one that I have not thought of a creative
solution for yet. Likewise, whether (and how) to indicate if a verse
contains any footnotes, without distracting from the normal text display.

It would seem that the key to success might be first to explore how to make a Go
Bible with two synchronized parallel texts?

e.g. An English NT with the parallel Greek NT text.
e.g. An English OT with the parallel Hebrew OT text.
Or even, A complete Bible with the parallel "original languages" as a combined 
version.

Normal display would be one version or the other, not interlinear.

A single key would suffice to switch between versions, navigation parameters 
for the
hidden version being synchronized automatically.  Of necessity, both versions 
would
need to have the same versification.

For two parallel versions, history and bookmarks should be common to both.

What to do with search and search results is more of a quandary.
I think these would have to be separate.

Send SMS and Send MMS should send only from the currently displayed version.

Octavian Lupu is developing a parallel version of BiblePhone (original based on
GoBibleCore). When he wrote last August, this was not yet implemented.
