PRS+ froze PRS-600 reader #300

Your model / PRS+ version? PRS-600 / PRS+ 2.0.18 LeChuck

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I've installed the base image & old version of PRS+ before, so I updated it
by copying the PRSPInstaller to the root of internal memory.
2. Restarted ereader, PRS+ was updated (I checked) and seemed to work.
Following the readme.txt file, I deleted the folder PRSPInstaller from the
internal memory (it's still there after the update).
3. Unmount the ereader and disconnected the USB cable.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
As soon as the USB was disconnected, the ereader was frozen with message at the
bottom "1fskin:/l/string". Could not make it work again. I googled the problem
and found a fix: reset the reader and immediately connect it to PC, then
delete/rename the file /database/cache/media.xml and restart. The problem was
fixed, but the reader was reverted to the factory, original firmware (not PRS+).

Everytime I tried to re-install PRS+, the same issue happened. Now I have to
use the factory firmware. Any solution?

Starting while connected to USB = "Safe-Mode", first you get the
USB-Data-Transfer-Screen, after disconnect Standard Sony UI is loaded.

Don't reinstall PRS+. Just do a full shutdown and restart. What happens?

It restarted successfully into PRS+ and now it seems working well. Thanks!
However, since the problem persisted everytime I tried to update/re-install
PRS+, I think it might be a good idea to put the instructions to fix this issue
on the website or in the README file, just in case others have the same problem.

Hi,

if folder is there even though you've deleted it, internal memory file system
got corrupt. (normally this is caused by using custom fonts that are mounted
directly from internal memory) Please run checkdisk or re-format (don't forget
to save your files) after booting in safe mode.
