Unicode input does not work #201

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect to VNC server (tightvnc running on winxpsp3)
2. Set focus to any input control on the remote server desktop and enter some
non-ASCII characters - this could be done either by selecting another input
language or via long tap on any vowel and then selecting a diacritic character
from the popup. Example text: résumé, àáâãçéêíóôõúфжмыъ

What is the expected output?
Non-ascii characters are sent over to the server and appear in the input
control on the target desktop system.

What do you see instead?
All non-ascii characters are ignored. Only plain ascii is accepted.

What version of android-vnc-viewer are you using?
androidVNC_build20101119.apk

Which VNC server/version are you using? On which platform?
TightVNC 2.0.2 (built on Jul 8 2010)

What is the size of the desktop you are trying to access?
1680x1050

What device are you using?
HTC Desire, Android 2.2 (OTA update)

Are you using a custom ROM? If so, which?
Not using a custom ROM.

This happens to me on my Transformer, too. Since it has big keyboard with all
the diacritics, it is not very pleasant that I can't use them all.

I use Android 3.2, version of Android-VLC 0.5.0, using RealVNC.

Got the same issue on my Desire... But only from the "quicktool" next to the
zoom buttons at the bottom of the screen. However, If I go press menu -> send
keys, it works...

Same thing for me, using a French eeePad :( not sure if this is a keyboard
related or android (ICS) problem though.
