installed plugin created 40x40 icon pasted some pixels in pressed CTRL+S typed in filename, taken to an empty icon edit. Really waste of time

I can reproduce. This is happening because saving doesn't "finish" the paste. So a workaround in the meantime is to just switch tools, for example by pressing s to go to the selection tool.
