make release branch

update version listed in pyproject.toml

update release docs at docs/source/changelog.rst

• rebuild docs and review changelog

commit changes

bump version to next ###+dev in pyproject.toml, commit

merge into main

tag main branch with version number, stable, release on release commit

checkout release

build and publish to pypy

• pip install -e .[dev]
• poetry build
• poetry publish -r testpypi
• poetry publish
