AutoAnswer 1.5 not working on a Sony Reciever & HTC Desire handset

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Enable the application
2.Answer All Calls
3.4 second delay before answer
4.Enable Only using BT Headset 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Looks like it should be working all ok, the Sony Car Audio MEX-BT2850  both BT 
Headset & BT Audio show as connected   I can make outgoing calls thru the 
bluetooth connection BUT Incomming calls will not route thru the bluetooth. the 
incomming call auto answers on the handset

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using Auto Answer V1.5  on an HTC Desire Using Vesrion 2.1 Update 1

Please provide any additional information below.

I believe this app is now obsolete, as auto-answering functionality is now 
built into the OS.  I know 2.3 has it, but I am unsure of earlier versions.  
Can anyone confirm?

Settings > Call Settings > All Calls > Answering call > Automatic Answering
