Implement Luomus flying squirrel ETL and result service

As Luomus flying squirrel project manager, I want that all data (locality data, observation data) is collected as automatically as possible (using mobile app), so that everyone saves time and errors are reduced.

As Luomus flying squirrel project manager, I want that data is visible on Laji.fi under my name, so that data users know where the data is from.

Currently data is collected using paper forms and then entered to Excel, which is uploaded to Excel.

LoLife form cannot handle:

• [ ] Data from multiple collections

Data Bank cannot handle:

• [ ] Named places with data specific for this project
• [ ] Named places shared by project participants
• [ ] Form fields specific for squirrels: easy to add, if are added to Vihko trip form as well.

Neither can handle:

• [ ] Classification fields for monitoring site
• [ ] Zero observations

Meeting with Jari Valkama 11.11.2024

Jari is processing the observation data (including year 2024) to be shared with FinBIF. The data will be stored in the Flying Squirrel Monitoring dataset (https://laji.fi/theme/dataset-metadata/HR.4711).

For further development:

Modifying the data bank form so that information can be saved directly to the data bank (particularly by adding fields for nest and feces observations on the field survey form) & making the data bank forms available in Mobiilivihko.

There are approximately 7-8 participants in the flying squirrel monitoring, and about 1,000 monitoring sites are visited annually.
