I saw an issue was closed in 2016 around weather or not SteamCMD should be made compatible with Lutris. A lot of people seem to be running SteamCMD in docker/oci containers. I personally am in the situation where I am trying to run Steam in an OCI container using podman and the nvidia-container-runtime. Steam GUI is giving me a hard time, and I tried using Bottle's Window's verison of steam but neither seem to work :( I would love to have a nice light-weight GUI.
Among the reasons for not supporting SteamCMD are not supporting Steam Guard, but I think Lutris has come a long way since then.
