truecrack: command not found

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.I downloaded and expanded the file
2.ran make gpu=false
3.ran truecrack -h

What is the expected output?
truecrack help message indicating syntax usage

What do you see instead?
truecrack: command not found

What version of the product are you using?
Not sure, just downloaded a few minutes ago (January 04, 2013)

On what operating system?
Ubuntu 12.0.4

the make procedure generates the elf executable file truecrack in the current 
directory: ./truecrack --help
