The chess room is packed, you click "battle" and a dialogue appears, every player next to a checkbox. You check in everybody's that's present and hit "go". The system auto-fills in the players and awaits the winner.
The match is played, the winners are logged, and the next players to play are automatically populated into the match.
The system both makes sure that everybody plays an even amount, but also that the teams are truly random.
