If embers are disabled, user must press hotkey twice to enable on next playback

Describe the bug After disabling embers with Ctrl+E, if the user starts another playback session they must hit Ctrl+E twice to re-enable.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Start playback and disable embers with Ctrl+E
2. Finish playback and start another playback session
3. Hit Ctrl+E
4. Nothing happens
5. Hit Ctrl+E again
6. Embers are re-enabled

Expected behavior Embers should be toggled on the first hotkey press
