node-red seem quite popular, but I never try it, not sure if it would address this problem or something else will be needed.
IK that pypilot calibrate the IMU for its need. IDK if it's usable outside pypilot context... pypilot is quite stand alone.
We might need to look at what openplotter does with i2c. There might be some kind of daemon process which lysmarine is lacking
i2c config application might be needed for IMU, and enviro sensors
