Export to github results in redirect loop #46

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Exporting my projects to github with the github exporter have all failed and
created redirect loops trying to access my repo when I'm logged in. If I'm
logged out, I can access the repo.

I see this output in Chrome when surfing to the repo:

The webpage at https://import.github.com/auth/github has resulted in too many
redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies
may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and
not a problem with your computer.

This is on Linux, using Chrome 41

This seems to be a bug in GitHub's importer tool. I'll file a bug with them.

Just curious, what page directed you to visit
https://import.github.com/auth/github in the first place? Is your GitHub
username "auth" and your project named "github"?

No, my username is tcoopman, repo 'snipper'. When I surf (logged in as tcoopman
on github) to http://github.com/tcoopman/snipper chrome jumps to
https://import.github.com/auth/github and I get the redirect loop error.

I have been able to solve this. It worked on a different pc (and it was on
windows).
So it's good for me.
