Documentation of Leading and Trailing Edge Connection #373

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Xpath of the element CPACS:
"/cpacs/vehicles/aircraft/wing/componentSegment"

Type in CPACS:
"leading and trailing Edge Device Type"

What version of CPACS are you using?
"CPACS 2.1"

Please specifiy further information for your issue:
The issue is concerning a non explicit documentation of the way controlsurfaces
are defined in CPACS. It needs to be made explicitly clear that:

- Leading and Trailing Edge are defined by the outer shape of the segments,
i.e. the trailing edge of a trailingedgedevice is the trailing edge of the
wing. This is also valid for kinks!

- The edges of the control surface within the wing are a straight line in
absolute coordinates! If interpolating in relative coordinates, this would lead
to a cambered leading or trailing edge for a tapered and swept wing. Hence,
there needs to be a straight connection between the etawise outer and inner
points of the edge that is within the wing in absolute coordinates.

Please provide any additional information below:
-Waiting for some more testing and then including this update in CPACS 2.2.
