The current default-config requires a https-connection for logging into the labsystem. Otherwise the login fails silently as the https-only session cookie can't be set.
Suggestions:
Improve documentation regarding this topic and note that SSLLogin has to be set to 0 without https
Check if https is available and otherwise print a warning on the login page
