Fix choppiness with playback speed controls #111

The features implemented in r218 (custom playback speed) and r219 (force
100% speed playback) cause the chart to render choppily during playback. 
If they can't be made to work smoothly, it might not be as handy to use
these features.

Custom playback rate plays smoothly now, but force full speed playback 
(F+Spacebar) is still choppy.

I don't know when it got fixed, perhaps it was some of the random 
optimizations, but it plays smoothly now..  I'll consider this issue resolved.
