Establish a Local Supabase Development Environment

Objective: Set up a local development environment for Supabase to streamline development and testing.

Steps:

1. Install Prerequisites:

• Ensure Node.js and npm are installed on your machine.
• Install Docker and ensure it is running.

2. Install Supabase CLI:

• Open the terminal and run:
• npm install supabase --save-dev

3. Initialize Project:

• Create a new directory and navigate into it:

• mkdir my-supabase-project

  cd my-supabase-project

• Initialize the project with:
• npx supabase init

4. Start Supabase Stack:

• Start the local Supabase stack:
• npx supabase start
• Access your local instance at http://localhost:54321.

5. Configure Environment Variables:

• Set `NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL` to `http://localhost:54321`.
• Obtain `NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY` from the terminal output after starting Supabase.
