No sound. I tested it with two people, today the stream of any sound in the application disappeared.

Same problem

Because new steam version?

I found a solution for some games not transmitting the sound. For me, the problem laid in the "Microsoft Spacial Sound" setting.

To fix it, deactivate spacial sound and you should be good to go.

Addition: I had to deactivate it INSIDE THE GAME! Not in windows! (Tested it for Uncharted 4 and Ori and the WIll of the Wisps).

No sound here either, Spatial sound unabled on windows, and no option to it ingame.

I'm encountering this issue on my Steam Deck OLED when using RemotePlayWhatever in Game Mode (as installed from NonSteamLaunchers).

I can host remote play sessions and people can join and see whatever game I have open. But only games ran through Proton have sound. If I try to run a retro game from Xemu or PCSX2, my friend can see and play the game fine, but there is no sound. I have Xemu and PCSX2 installed natively through Emudeck. Maybe this is an issue with Wayland native vs X11 apps, something not being forwarded properly through Pipewire? Needs more investigation...

The solution to this problem is to install the beta version of Steam with a new update and fix.

In the Steam client, click on Steam in the top left corner, then select the Settings menu. Open the "Interface" tab and click on the drop-down menu in the "Participation in the beta testing of the Steam client" section. Select the Steam Beta Update option. You will be prompted to restart Steam.

I'm afraid this issue was closed in error. I just re-tested using the beta Steam update on both my Steam Deck and PC. I have no sound in the steam deck menu during streaming. I do have sound when opening up a Proton and Linux native game from Steam (Subnautica and Artic Eggs).

I did some more testing. I am able to get sound from non-steam games added as exes and ran through Proton. I'm also able to get sound on linux-native Itch.io games added to Steam and ran through .sh scripts. I also checked and this behavior also occurs in desktop mode on my Steam Deck.

So it looks like the issue might be with streaming Flatpak applications?

I conducted a PC to PC (windows) test, in this format everything works the same as before. That's why I closed the topic. For SteamDeck it is better to create another topic.
