I'm a third generation roofer with a layman's understanding of web design and relational db. We use a platform written in foxpro. I started a mysql/php version YEARS ago. I thought id do a quick search for construction ERP here. Are your parents still active? would you like to continue this? I've got my crud and some dynamic reports like invoices starting to come together. It looks like you delved into the accounting side. I would need to expand my one person freelancer group to do any of that.

Best,

Bill

Hey Bill,

So, I haven't touched this software since sometime in 2015 (family eneded up deciding to retire and sell the business before it was finished). I've thought on and off about working on it more over the years, but there hasn't been a big incentive, as there is no end-user, and no one has expressed any interest (granted, I didn't do anything to try and draw interest).

At this point I don't really remember the current status of anything; best I can remember is that some parts are totally working/complete, some are mostly complete, and some still have work to go. If I had to guess, I'd say it is maybe about 80-90% complete as far as my original intentions for it go. I used to have a live demo set up, but that's unfortunately been down for years, and I don't think that I kept a copy of the database (or maybe it's on an old hardrive sitting in a box somewhere), so I'd have to set it all up again to really check it out.

There is a good bit of accounting built in (invoicing/billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, taxes, etc) - payroll and all the accounting associated with that is actually probably the biggest part of the software as it stands, though again, I don't recall what the status of everything is, or where I was when I stopped working on it.

If you want to have a more in-depth discussion, feel free to drop me an email at ____.

What kind of incentive do you need? I’ve been pushing a similar project uphill (I dont code) since 96.

I’m in a similar family owned service business. I’m not a developer/coder/ I just see a need for a mobile accessible management system.

I’d love to carry on the discussion.
