Prototyping new camera UI #21

Hi Ma1co, I didn't find any contact information, so using this.

I'd like to do a prototype of a new ui running on a real camera. It seems Open Memories could work for such a prototype. While my prototype android app would be commercial the development work I'd need to commission on the Open Memories framework would obviously benefit the community.

This will be a full camera app in the sense that the user has a live preview screen and manual/auto control over all exposure settings. The key difference between our app and the native firmware will be the intuitive UI we are testing. We believe our UI will dramatically shorten the learning curve for new camera users. There are two parts to the our work, 1) building an Android camera app and 2) I assume - some development work on Open Memories Framework to fully accommodate our app on given camera models. We are looking at the A7rii to prototype our UI with thumbwheels, and the a6500 to prototype it with a touchscreen.

@Ma1co, two questions I'd like to discuss with you are:

  1. How much development will we need to do to Open Memories framework for it to fully host our app?
  2. Would you be interested in doing some of this work, paid? You do know the framework! Or can you recommend someone else?
