[Request] NEX-6 Focus Peaking / Grid sent to HDMI and LCD not shut off when external monitor connected #353

I bought a NEX 6 and I feel like I got duped because:

Focus Peaking works on LCD, but does not port out to HDMI, neither does grid.

Ok, so just look at the LCD screen to focus and then look at monitor to film? Nope, LCD shuts off when you turn monitor on.

I have a visual impairment and I have to use focus peaking to make sure I have hard focus. I would donate if someone could make this happen (at least the Focus Peaking to HDMI) or else I guess I just save up for an ursa. :(

Does anyone know if this is even possible? From what I had read, Sony disabled both screens (external HDMI and the built in LCD to be on at the same time (so as not to detract customers from buying their pro-line series which allows this). Furthermore, I am guessing that the lack of exporting focus peaking to the HDMI is for a similar reason. I have little to no coding abilities, but where would one start investigating to see if this would be viable via an app created/ installed on the phone...etc? I have scoured the internet and have read that natively it is not possible, I am not so worried about the grid as I would be for focus peaking to be exported HDMI and I would gladly donate for research into making this viable for the NEX 6 series.

Is this a feature that can ever be implemented?
