How to install open memories tweak using serviceshell for ZV1 e10 #358

I have a Japanese Zv1 e10 which i am trying to unlock the languages.

I am able to install the drivers and to run serviceshell, but how would i install open memories tweak from there? There are no instructions. Can anyone help please!

can i do this on my a7iii ? i dont have original usb from camera, i buy a7iii on japan region , if you dont mind can you teach me or making tutorial ?

Its working perfectly. I set the language to English.

can you make tutorial about that ? my camera a7iii japan version i dont know how to do it

Yes English can be set. But the camera crashes and restarts when the language menu is browsed to near Arabic language.

you dont have any problem when set in english ? because i just need english version

Nobody can guarantee that this tweak will work without any issues on each Sony camera, if you want to try , it means you are taking the risk of breaking the camera. There are people here complaining about their A7M4 broken and blaiming developer for that, that's really funny. Developer is supporting this project more than 6 years already, if some basic command line knowledge is absent I'd recommend nobody to try these tweaks

There are people here complaining about their A7M4 broken and blaiming developer for that, that's really funny. Developer is supporting this project more than 6 years already, if some basic command line knowledge is absent I'd recommend nobody to try these tweaks

This has nothing to do with command line knowledge, it's a major bug. I'm a camera dealer I've tried many models released after the A7M3, after unlocking the language the camera would crash and restart when switching to near Arabic language. Including your A6400 has the same problem. Developers should report this bug to warn everyone as this is a common problem

Developer has no responsibility against anyone , he is not working for Sony, he is not an official developer for them. He already wrote a warning in the main page , rest is not his responsibility at all

Arguments are pointless. It's a fact that the camera crashes near the arabic restart. This bug exists on all Japanese cameras launched after 2018. You are also obliged to mention this bug when you share but you didn't say anything

thats true, ma1co so good he give us free tweak and he warn before using, and somone can do this method and unlock english language so its good

Please tell me how did you activate the MTP mode on your ZV-10E camera? In my case, the mode selection menu is locked. Doesn't let you choose. I have a similar problem. Yesterday I bought a camera in Japan and the hieroglyphs are driving me crazy

I can't switch to MTP mode. I installed Zadig. Substituted the libusb-win32 driver (v1.2.6.0). However, when I launch the console, it just crashes for me. Window opens and closes immediately

@strugler getting my ZV-E10 soon, realized that the camera will be locked to japanese way too late :/ So this worked for you and youre able to use English on your japanese ZV-E10? Also did you install open memories tweak or did you just enable the Language tweak from the menu or any of the other tweaks too? Could you tell me what you did/installed and in which order? thank you so much in advance @strugler

Thank you so much this file saved me big time! I can confirm that the v0.18-18 dev build works for model ILCE-7M3 (SONY α7 III)

Just followed the guide on replacing driver with Zadig and then used the GUI to "Start tweaking (service mode)". Finally got English on my Japanese model!

Is it safe? I dont have original usb alao , can u make some tutorial on youtube or others platform, im so confuses using my camera in japan version

To be honest nothing is safe. You are using this on your own risk. Just check out the instructions on the first page here on this github source. Follow the Zadig install guide. Then next use the GUI and press the "Start tweaking (service mode)" button 👍

There are few people complaining that after language change their camera restarts and falls into a bootloop. You should check all the github topics for your specific camera model and find out what could happen from the experiences of other people. Before I applied this solution I made a research about my ZV E-10 many times. This is not officially supported by Sony so there is always a risk.

I`m glad that it helped. I think that version of the software should be pinned somewhere in this github page because people can not find it anymore in the link provided on the main page.

i still dont know how to try this metode because im new in this scene , and my english not that good to follow tutorial, if you dont mind can u guys who can change language from japanese to english, make tutorial how to do this :( u will help a lot of people :)

You can use conda on windows (I don’t know why, but it didn’t work for me on Linux (fedora 39)):

  1. in cmd: git clone https://github.com/ma1co/Sony-PMCA-RE.git (in any directory)
  2. install conda (search instruction on the internet)
  3. install environment with python 3.6.8 (cmd): conda create --name python368 python=3.6.8
  4. (cmd): conda activate python368
  5. (cmd): pip install -r requirements.txt
  6. (cmd): python pmca-gui.py # for the gui application

! But you still need to install the drivers correctly via zadig

its worked for me.
