Hey I have implemented the app as suggested, please review @codepathreview and @codepath.

I would love any feedback even harsh ones!

I am in the process of researching how to implement reminders which would involve some combination of an alarm manager, broadcast receiver and maybe a service and after that I want to implement a comprehensive sort feature which would give the user to ability to sort according to priority, alphabetically or date wise.

Could you comment on my use of a singleton for communicating with the sqlite db and my use of the CursorWrapper helper class (scalability issue) Thank your for your consideration and I look forward to your reply

I may have found your name and application associated with a different github login. You work at Brock Solutions is that correct?

maaztr commented 8 years ago

Thank you for reviewing my application Nathan, and yes that is correct!

Hey Nathan, I haven't heard from you , I'd like to know what happens next and if I am selected for the bootcamp. I hope I am not at a disadvantage just because I am not located in California (in Boston, willing to fly out during the last week of the bootcamp!). I am way too anxious to find out whats next!

Thanks (@codepathreview and @codepath.)

Hi Maaz,

Sorry for the delay! Thanks for applying and submitting your pre-work. Based on your LinkedIn it is unclear if you meet the selection criteria for participating in the course. In particular:

Can you review that and let me know if you can confirm that you believe you meet these requirements?

If not, no worries and I can add you to our remote self-paced observer group so you will still have access to the curriculum and can learn at your own pace. In the meantime, you should also check out the resources we provide here as well.

Also, I did want to say your pre-work is excellent and very well-done. Great job on the todo app so far! Hope you enjoyed building the project.

Hey Nathan,

Firstly apologies for the late reply, its been extremely busy at work. Thank you very much, your appreciation means a lot! To address your concern about the 1+ year of programming experience, I do have PLC programming experience (shipping code to prod as well as working collaboratively) I believe I do meet your requirement. The coding part is my favourite thing about the job and I wanted more of it, so started getting into Android ~ 6 months ago. Today I feel like changing my career and the only thing stopping me is having a solid portfolio as well as a comprehensive grasp of Android. Your program is going to provide that but It wont work for me if I am put in the "self-paced" class because structure and competition brings the best out of me as well as the chance to learn with the Uber folks.

I worked tirelessly on the pre-work and I am going to give my best if I am put in the course. Looking forward to hearing from you

Thanks, (@codepathreview and @codepath.)

Hi Maaz,

I do appreciate the note and your interest in the course. I have added you to a waitlist for the course. Unfortunately, we received over 200+ pre-work submissions from eligible applicants so it causes us to have to make tough decisions about who to accept into the program this round. In the even that you are unable to participate directly, I'm happy to offer you a chance to get access to the course materials as a remote self-paced observer so you can still learn using our materials and assignments. That way you can still hopefully benefit from them. Will follow up with you again soon.
