there are a number of ways to make mistakes
a) deleting a folder when you haven't processed all the files in the folder
b) misnaming
c) when scanning, not telling the scanner that the stack of documents are all singles instead of a single document
do we need a second copy of every document that we keep in a "raw" location?
do we need to have some better way to track? this goes back to keeping the checksum of each file so we could find it if we needed to
do we need to have a db instead (ugh)
