Please reproduce with trunk build and include a log file from pwm startup until
problem occurs with log level set to trace and ldap wire trace enabled.

I have updated to v1.7.1 but the issue still persists. Please provide the
version in which it is fixed.

It has not been fixed in a stable release, yet. You might try updating to the
latest LdapChai library (simply replacing the jar file:
http://code.google.com/p/pwm/source/browse/trunk/pwm/servlet/web/WEB-INF/lib/lda
pChai.jar), or update to a nightly build: see the project page
http://code.google.com/p/pwm/.

The issue persist in v1.7.1, even after replacing the ldapChai.jar file and
restarting the service.
What ldap directory and version are you using?
Win2012R2

Can someone point to the correct jar replacement file?
Many thanks, Chris

After trying some ldapChai.jar files in the libraryes, it seems that this one
is working.
https://code.google.com/p/pwm/source/browse/branches/1.7.0-fixes/pwm/pwm/servlet
/web/WEB-INF/lib/ldapChai.jar?spec=svn728&r=728
Thanks,
Chris.

I just downloaded the latest ldapChai.jar to try to fix this, but once I
replace the old file I could no longer connect to the webapp. I'm on v1.7.1
with Win2012R2 AD.
