Hi

Using Qchainage in Qgis 1.9.0Master chainage generation works fine on drawn shape in Qgis in project layer WGS 84 / UTM zone 56s.

But with QGIS setup with Measure tool set to WGS 84 and canvas and layer units set to metres. Imported GPX tracks in WGS 84 / qchainage returns degree not the metric measurement?

Screen measurments and the scale bar are correct on data shown.

Any help would be appricated!

Hi! Thanks for the report .. unfortunately this plugin is far away from being perfect as right now it is not even released as experimental to the public. I will update the source soon and look if I can do something with measurement (feet,m and so on) but currently I do have less time. But I am open to patches at any time .. thanks for your interest in this plugin .. stay tuned - If I ever manage to have some sparetime I will take a look into it

Hi I published a first "official" version a few days ago .. It is still marked experimental - but after a few cleanups I will publish a "stable" version soon.

Regarding your Report: I know added the Unit system of the selected Layer to be displayed right next the spinbox. So you can always see the Unit-System displayed. Probably at a later point I will add some conversions too but for now it does not make much sense to chainage a WGS84 Layer in meters/feet .. As a world system it is just "degrees" and I can imagine people trying to chainage a line around the world and complaining about the "wrong" result.

So if you really want to chainage a WGS84 Layer just reproject it first to some reasonable System ..

If I misunderstood your question please attach a sample and tell me what you'd like to be able to do so that I can look if it should work ..
