Possible cause that leads to switch death on the z or perceived switch death.
When homing or more likely on a mesh. The like the Z switch was getting stuck up and did not always pop back immediately. After swapping the switch and the problem got worse.
Turns out that presumably there must be some small print defect in the carriage prints that is causing too much pressure to be put on the switch, as a previous set of carriage prints did not have this issue.
After cutting a small relief in the front plate of the carriage to reduce pressure, the switch now functions as expected.
Without being able to determine the exact root cause, Possible solutions might be to deepen the switch location as the switch is locked in with a bolt, or maybe to add reliefs in the corners where the switch might get pressed outwards.
