What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install and configure Crux PPC Linux 32bit on a late 2005 Mac Mini G4
(kernel 2.6.34)
2. Compile and install Asterisk 11.x and chan_dongle SVN + Asterisk 11 patch
found around this place.
3. Try using any of these 3G dongles: Huawei K3765, Huawei E160E, Huawei E1550
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Decent quality sound on both directions.
Garbled sound from Asterisk to GSM caller, garbled sound from GSM to the
Asterisk extension (soft phone). Google helps when searching for "chan_dongle
bigendian patch" - 2nd result contains a patch that could be applied (manually).
With this patch applied, i tried a call initiated from Asterisk's CLI with the
"hello-world" sample to the GSM: decent quality, everything seems to be OK.
However, if I'm trying to call from the GSM to one extension (soft phone)
there's still distortions (like a over-saturated high volume sample).
Tweaking the rx/txgain doesn't seem to help.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
chan_dongle SVN, Crux PPC Linux 32bit on a PPC 7447A/1500MHz, 1GB of RAM, Mac
Mini late 2005.
