Ditto bold, underline, etc. Specifically, if you try to remove a character style with direct formatting (e.g., use the Ctrl-i shortcut), what you end up with is "span italics characters (ital) + Not Italic" because "Not Italic" is a property of the Font object for that span.
The Character Styles macro should be recognizing these and remove the style to revert to roman text, but it isn't. An example file is here.
