Lower temp dir 2 size #162

Does the temp dir 2 have a mandatory minimum of 110GiB? or the temp dir 1 can dynamically/automatically fill in for the shorted space?

Most consumer desktop motherboard have only 4 ram slots which can most likely limit the ram to 128GB so I hope there is no mandatory minimum space for temp dir 2 if we were to use ramdisk.

absolute minimum is 104GiB, it will not automatically switch, you need that much RAM if it's a ramdisk

You can always swap memory to SSD. It will only swap during the peak stage, and has a very small impact on overall performance, but would allow you to fit the files when total usage is close to the edge of the cliff.

Does a Tmp2 drive improve the time to plot? Say I used a 500gb SSD as a tmp 2 along with 3x2TB drives for Tmp1

tmp2 should be faster than tmp
