Hi, I am running the MadMax on an Intel i5-10400 and it is very slow and is not using any CPU. I have a 1Tb SSD memory and 16Gb of RAM.

SNGDude commented 3 years ago

its normal on that hardware configuration.

TopoSan commented 3 years ago

I don't understand.It doesn't use cpu🤦🏼‍♂️ There is a bug

fabitom commented 3 years ago

What do you mean, "not using CPU" so it's not working, "very slow" so it's working ??!! pls provide more information.

Not sure why people are being so rude to you have I’m having the same problem where it’s only using 0 to 5% of max CPU despite setting 12 threads. I’m using i7-7700k

TopoSan commented 3 years ago

The problem is that it is not using the threads and it takes a long time for the first phase, in fact the first step already takes almost 10 minutes !!

Are you using the NVME for temp2 ? Since phase 1 uses temp2 all the time, and the cpu utilization will be 100% during the whole phase 1 process If temp2 is NVME or ramdisk. I've tried using 4 x SAS drives (Raid 0) for temp2 (temp1 is NVME) but phase 1 was still slow as well as low cpu utilization. Hope this helps.....

Hey thanks for your reply. I was running tests on an offline pc just using hdd as I don’t want to interrupt my main plotter. I do have an NVME I can use, I’m not sure why that would explain my CPU usage never going over around 5%? I’ll give it a try though thank you
