Works With Latest Version? #2

Hi, this doesn't seem to work with the latest version of ArchivesSpace (maybe I'm doing something wrong), any plans to update things to make it work with 2.5?

Hi Blake, you're correct that I haven't updated them for 2.5 yet. I should be able to do that within the next week or two.

Dear Rachel,

During the ArchivesSpace Member Forum 2018 we watched your presentation about ‘Creating Subjects FASTer: Using Faceted Application of Subject Terminology in ArchivesSpace’ with great interest.

We think it is a great addition to ArchivesSpace and we would really like to use it too. We asked LYRASIS (Blake Carver) to install your FAST subjects plugin, but we are experiencing some problems using it with ArchivesSpace version 2.5.0.

My colleague Hadewijch Dekker tested the plugin. She sent me her findings. Do you maybe know what might be causing the issues?

Testing the FAST search plugin: Searching seems to work fine.

However I had some trouble with the Type field in the Subject record. ArchivesSpace defaults to Cultural context, and for all types of terms, except Geographic, the type does not change when I add a term. I did not see any way to keep the field empty, but also when I tried to delete the pre-existing terms and subdivisions box, the term added defaults to Cultural context.

Also I found some glitches when clicking the Add to ArchivesSpace button to soon, search below was for Judaism:

I think this happens when you do not wait to see the selected terms change to MARC encoding.

Hi Matthieu, thanks for reporting these bugs! I've just pushed an update that should take care of them. (ArchivesSpace requires a subject term type, so I've set it to "topical" for everything except geographic terms, uniform titles, and genre/form entries. And you are correct that the other problem was occurring due to the form being submitted before the MARC loads; as a temporary solution this will result in no data being parsed at all, but in the near future I'll improve the form submission process so that the user is notified that the MARC hasn't loaded yet.)
