retropie does not yet fully support RPi5. Because of this, there is currently no splash screen integration using retropie. The two options are:
Create my own method of showing a splash screen video at boot
Wait for full RPi5 support to release.
Because I have until the end of the year to finish this, I am currently opting for option 2, as I expect the official rpi5 release will be in the near future.
