OK, so I sorted out the issue. My entire /Music folder lived on an external drive, with the folder replaced with an alias in the user folder. To test, I replaced the alias with an actual Music folder (now with the big sub folders in it as aliases to the external drive) and did a fresh install of both instruments. Things are now working just as they should. Presets are all there, licensing works, and no Ableton crashing.
Something with that alias setup really tripped things up, though I haven’t noticed problems like this with other VSTs or things that reference that folder.
Anyway, thanks for the support, and now I can get back to the fun part.
Can we support this?
