add opencl support and utilities #166

I needed to work on the opencl part. I have added some utilities to the revamped library.

Please have a look when you have time.

@maedoc Fixed travis. Please have a look. I am using the new added functions, so please check the naming, or I will have to change it later at places I have used it.
