Install telepathy-tank from the repos, and then add the account using empathy (uninstall it once you're done) or using mc-tool. I haven't written a rtcom-accounts-ui plugin yet, but I was able to receive a message from a channel, but it looks like it needs a fair amount of (more) work. I didn't get a direct message from someone yet, for example (which might also be a 'room', somehow).
